I couldn't disagree more. Focusing on manufacturing is the best thing that Barrett could do for Intel, and the results have already spoken. Intel is ahead on .13u manufacturing, while the whole industry continues to have problems. Barrett has invested in the future, while most CEOs have tightened their belts during the recession. I think wherever Intel is when things improve will be a testament to Barrett's competence. If Intel cannot improve faster than the rest of the industry, then maybe you are right. One thing for sure is that Intel has remained profitable while many others in the same sector have suffered huge losses. That has to be worth something.
