<< What's the symbol for GMST? It's spelled out in my newspaper, which is no help. I also can't raise a GMST thread here on SI, or get a quote. >>
Well as you know, the new ticker symbol is (supposed to be) GMSTE.
I just checked MSN Money and pulled a detailed quote:

Reuters story on the delisting here:
>> Gemstar Shares Fall On Delisting Notice From Nasdaq
Los Angeles August 27, 2002 Reuters
Shares in television guide provider Gemstar-TV Guide International Inc. (GMSTE) fell on Tuesday after the company said it is facing delisting from the Nasdaq for being late in filing its quarterly reports.
Shares in Pasadena, California-based Gemstar were down 10 percent at $4.03 on Nasdaq. The shares had fallen as much as 18 percent in after-hours trade on Instinet on Monday.
After the market closed Monday, Gemstar said it had received a notice from Nasdaq that it faced delisting because it has not yet filed its most recent quarterly report with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
Gemstar had said two weeks ago it would delay that report while it reviewed its accounting practices, prepared a restatement of its 2001 results and considered a proposal to restructure its management.
The company said it requested a hearing last Friday before a Nasdaq qualifications panel and that it has been assured its shares will not be delisted before the hearing, which could be any time within 30 days of the company's initial request.
"Regardless of whether Gemstar is delisted, we continue to believe that the shares aren't worth investing in at any price," Morningstar analyst T.K. MacKay said in a note posted on Morningstar's Web site on Tuesday.
Gemstar shares are down almost 86 percent this year, battered by losses in two patent infringement cases, charges to write down goodwill from its TV Guide acquisition, questions about its accounting practices and uncertainty about the future of management. <<
