Hizbullah? Hizbullah has a very specific and narrow focus with regard to American hegemony: keeping American presence out of the Mideast. Hizbullah has never attacked American interests upon our native soil. Hizbullah's history of conflict against the Israeli occupation in South Lebanon was legitimate focusing upon military targets via guerrilla warfare. The Hizbullah party serves an important social role in Lebanon. The reason Hizbullah is bastardized by pro-Israeli hawks relates to their successful campaign in South Lebanon and the message imparted upon the rest of the Arab world. The Israelis can be defeated.
