If Maimonides' extreme racism is only an aberration of past cultural influence, why would Jewish-American rabbis conspire to hide the reality of the "great" rabbis teachings? Because they consider racism a bad thing obviously. Do Lutherans celebrate hateful essays he once wrote? Would the Catholic church tell the world about the Inquisition if it wasn't already widely known - the way they handled the recent child molestation problem gives your answer. BTW, does the Catholic church's child molestation problem and the attempted coverup of it prove that child molestation is the essence of Catholicism? No, but that conclusion would be the equivalent of the charges you make on a daily basis.
