Lies, damn lies, and statistics <g> Sorry John, but the almanac is wrong. I'm not sure what they mean by the word "murderous" but numberwise only a few shorts got murdered in 2000. On 8/31/00 COMP closed up 103, Dow closed up 112, SPX closed up 15.11. 8/30/00 was also an up day for COMP, up 21. Good point about the dollar. Although Allan said that he doesn't care about the dollar, I sure do. So do my gold shares. Have people forgotten that the 100 point gap up on the Dow on 8/6 was because of the "strengthening dollar overseas?" I'm thinking that gap fill is coming within the next month.
