RE: "...punished mercilessly..." Too dramatic. There are differences of opinion concerning the immediate, intermediate, and long term prospects for AMAT and other tech companies. This is reflected in a tug-of-war at the stock price level. Don't be depressed. Just realize that you could have bought at prices lower than you bought at. Record the deltas for future reference.
