the de-evolution toward crippled socialism is gradual, firm

raise taxes, continue spending
and if anything goes wrong, keep sacred cows safe
tax the piss out of the poor slobs stupid enough to go lottery
as the masses become confused, frustrated, clueles, desperate,
they insist on more govt and not less
this dovetails with my objection to abdicated responsibility
neither voters nor their elected officials are required to act in a fiscally responsible fashion
and lest I forget, neither are corporations required
if the largest make larger mistakes, the govt bails them out
if the economy fails from an asset bubble produced by govt,
then print more money and bail it out
what we are witnessing is the slowmotion disintegration of the financial integrity of the entire economy
the households are up to their ears in debt
so are corporations
so are state govts
so is the federal govt
the result is a vast socialist two-ton blanket that becomes impossible to dismantle ever
one that is costly to maintain, smothering of economic growth, and devastating to fiscal integrity
the problem is ENDEMIC, pervasive, widespread, complete
it is politically unacceptable to make spending cutbacks
no politicians want to disappoint ANY voter
from the Federal Reserve on down, a pernicious sense that money can come from thin air to pay for our excesses
Europe is little better
we are setting the stage for something big, JW
