The company publicly credited XVID on the CC for the lines of open source code used by the Sigma programmer (unbeknownst to Sigma management). Perhaps further crediting will be necessary in trade circles, but what tangible liability based on case law or previous resolutions could possibly remain? Has anybody previously had a MPEG4 based player with the suite of features offered by Sigma in the $199-299 price point?
