You have really caused me to drag out some memories. I served in the Marine Corps right after the Korean War and got out in 1959. I went to work for Martin Marietta here in Denver (now Lockheed-Martin). I met Lt. Col. Vann and had the occasion to work some projects with him.

We all thought he was a hot-dog. He was so gung ho over the war that he finally went back into uniform and headed back to Nam. He was killed very shortly after that. I'm sorry to learn that your uncle was with him.

My earliest memories (of war) was WWII. I thought all the Piper Cubs that occasionally flew over our house in the country were bombers and were looking for someone to drop those bombs on. I always hid from them.
