True enough. I suspect there are living Hatfields and McCoys who know they should hate each other, but don't know or can't remember why. The same is probably true about many living Turks and Armenians. The participants in blood feuds usually know that there were genuine grievances, but sometimes in the so distant past that they are no longer clear about them.
The question is, how far or for how long should be hold on to our grievances? Each of us has our own ideas about that, and you are entitled to yours. Personally, I think there comes a time to let go of them, mostly for our own sake. It may different when there is a need to bring people to justice for genuine crimes. You often mention Poet in your posts, and I do not and never did think that that episode qualifies as an example of the latter.
I don't doubt that you are a man of honor and accomplishment. We all have deeper personalities than are revealed in our SI postings.
I wouldn't know what relationship you have with Bill and LL, but it is obvious to any thread reader that you all show up at the same time on this thread, and cross-post in support of one another while you are here, generally in attacks on X and CH. That gives every appearance of a gang and of ganging up. As I said, I personally wouldn't want to be a part of such doings, whether orchestrated or not.
It's a free country, this is an unmoderated thread, and we all have every right to act and speak as we wish. |
