I would also teach the children by showing them photographs of the broad outpouring of support all over the world, that America is loved, The broad outpouring of support is not specific to America. The support is because of the human tragedy. Germany is also receiving a "broad outpouring of support" due to its current human tragedy. I believe it is important to tell the children the truth. At one time America was almost universally "loved". However that isn't the case anymore. America has alienated large portions of the ME (edit) with its policy. Also America has alienated many others with its position on global warming. IMO it is a bit simplistic and somewhat disingenuous to indicate "America is loved." I agree with the thrust of your post. I would tell the children that there are a lot of people who don't like American POLICY. That's what I believe so that is what I would tell them. Zeuspaul
