Where you start is a big factor. I hold people that traveled the furhtest on their own in the highest regard. Bob Marley is probably my favorite in this regard. Plenty of business examples too. I've seen examples of people who sacraficed a lot and made it on their own. Your theory is simplistic and fatalistic. If you think you can't make it without connections, you certainly will not make it. Not saying that about you specifically, but in general you have to believe you can make it or you will not.

He encourages success imo. That his adversaries can't hear it or see it is baffling to me.
