It will be interesting to see what happens after the numbers come
out. I would like to know if the .18 and .32 cents estimates were
before or after the settlement.
Did you notice in the settlement that what Quidel was going to have
to pay BD was spelled out in detail but there was only a brief mention
of what BD was going to have to pay QDEL. I still think something
fishy is going on. The timing of the suit, just as things were looking really good for this stock. I am not a lawyer nor a whatever you have to be to develop these products. But I thought QDEL would have prevailed. A wise judge would not have granted an injuction to stop QDEL shipping, because if the experts from these two companies could not agree on such technical matters the judge would have realised he would not have been informed enough to grant the injunctions. Plus if they genuinely could not agree, a judge would probably have ruled that the patents are too broad. Also BD were selling these products for QDEL, I would have thought that this would have made them liable in their own lawsuit. Also QDEL stated they could make up the money in other ways. Do they mean they haven't been doing as well as they could. Whatever they are doing, if indeed they are doing anything fishy, they didn't shake me loose.
In the annual report there was no mention of any of the above. I bet
some owners still do not know what happened.
