*** OT *** nice picture. That reminds me that boaters are expected to stay 100 yards from naval vessels. Last Friday a guard boat shooed us away from a navy ship in SF Bay.

The Naval Protection Zone rules
established after 9/11 are as follows: Within 500 yards
of any U.S. naval vessel, operate at minimum speed.
(DO NOT approach directly toward the vessel at high
speed! You may be fired upon!) If you need to pass
within 100 yards of a naval vessel in order to ensure
safe navigation, contact the vessel or its Coast Guard
escort vessel on Channel 16. Violations of these rules
are punishable by fines and/or prison.
