c2,

re: for Cabal-haters

<< Your posting of Lynch's ancient shop-worn BS is surely not agnostic. >>

I suppose you would prefer a little Gilder (who I've posted here several times), or Ira Brodsky (who I've posted here several times), or Andy Seybold who I've posted here many times.

Perhaps a little Lynch is in order for some balance (even) to my own posts.

You would do well to read him a bit more objectively, IMO.

Something accounted for Qualcomm's loss of market share relative to Qualcomm's "superior" technology over the last several years after a more than promising start 96 to 99.

Lynch takes a (good) stab at it.

<< I'll believe you are truly agnostic >>

Carranza. Why would I possibly care what an individual as intellectually dishonest and as intellectually lazy as you, "believe".

<< ... when you say something derogatory about Nokia's failure to pursue 1x >>

What smoke are you blowing today?

What do you mean Nokia's failure to pursue 1x?

They have already released one 1xRTT model for the Americas. Two others are waiting in the wings, and both have FCC approval, and assuming success with both new data enabled models, plenty more models to release beyond that.

I assume that you are aware of that statement that in the coming year for each new GSM model release, there will be an equivalent cdma model matching form and function.

Moreover they have done it the hard way, AND the right way. Chip design has been a core Nokia competency ... although until they completely and successfully overhauled the tri-mode that powers the 5185i, 6185i, and 3285 once certainly could question that capability - but the fact remains that they did successfully accomplish that.

By designing their own 1xRTT chip, they set themselves apart from their competition (none of whom are attempting that) in terms of mastering the technology. Should they at some time want to move into cdma infra (more realistically All-IP infra supporting 1x-EV-DV) that endeavor will potentially set them apart from their competition and make them less reliant on the Mother Church.

If I say something derogatory about Nokia in the future relative to 1xRTT it will as a result of them not being successful with their in-house 1xRTT chip design.

I have my fingers crossed but that is a yellow caution flag so far as I am concerned, and you have heard me state that on several occasions.

<< Losing lots of sales as a result >>

They are losing potential sales (not sales) by not having 1xRTT qualified on carriers shelves.

HOWEVER, they continue to gain profitable market share despite that (which I find surprising, TBH).

<< No niche technology there >>

When do you think a niche is no longer a niche?
