The problem with these "work injuries" in many cases is that the work doesn't cause the injury, the underlying instability caused by disc degeneration does. The victim just happens to be at work when the episode begins. BTW, at 5 years post spinal fusion there is no difference between the surgical group and the non-surgical group. DOC
