We may choose to live only because others control the environment in which we live. Pick any arena and you will see that is true. Public safety, health, and transportation leap to mind...as do the sports. I would add the caveat that my meaning of the word "live" includes the descriptor "free"..., live free. The fact that one man's freedom is another man's restriction, or control, only serves to link the two concepts inseparably..."live and let live" cannot be exercised in a vacuum. God gave everyone a free will. Many would choose not to let us live, were the controls to their behavior removed. Then, there would be many more Westerfields....and Saddams...and bin Ladens...and Hitlers...and Tojos...and KKK...and TB...and the list goes on. The Prince of Darkness is at work here.
