Gottfried , I have been following yours and others post about the deflation question and whether or not it can effect our markets .

The short answer to the above question is yes .

The first sign of deflation IMO will be seen in the gold market , see the chart below . If gold goes below the $300 mark I would say that we will be well on the way into a deflation period that has the capabilty of taking the stockmarket to lower levels bigtime .

I could go into all the particulars as to why this will happen but I won't as I think this has already been covered by all the news articles that we have both seen about the subject . I am just giving you my opinion of what to watch for , using the gold market as a leading indicater .
