In any case, I just don't like the argument of attacking Iraq due to "moral clarity". Cheney should just drop the pretense and say that it fits the "Imperium Americanum" - a headline in the latest SPIEGEL edition:

I like the name Pax Americana, myself. Yep, that's what it's all about, though I have no problem with the 'moral clarity' of defending our democracy, free markets, etc. agains Islamist head-hackers.

This Bush Administration, like the last, has not found the knack of explaining the real reasons we are doing something, which boil down into, this is in America's interests, and if you don't think our interests are your interests, too, just wait and see how nice things get when Saddam becomes the regional power in the Gulf again.

Maybe that Norweigian blogger was right when he said that Americans' real problem was they had never mastered European hypocrisy. All we have do is proclaim that we adore international law and this is in service of the ICC, and our allies will have to agree!
