ERICY reached Apple Computer stage: Make good, nice products has a brand name but they don't matter anymore.

They can't make it at a profit because of their roots. ERICY is a company with its roots in fixed line infrastructure. From telephone switches, and everything that goes with it copper cables, rectifiers and transmission gear.

Their were one of the pioneers in wireless communications but couldn't go very far with analogue technology, big and power hungry.

Once digital technology (microprocessors clever algorithms) progressed, all the bits and pieces to make a digital mobile network were there. ERICY, as well as NOK, profited form the head start they had on a technology and standards developed in Europe.

The US dominated by Baby Bells monopolistic approach, was no where to be seen in mobile. Hence they dominated the world with GSM.

The window of opportunity closed, competition arrived and pretty soon the mobile environment got really tough. Now they suffer since they can't compete in an environment where Huawey is making inroads in mobile infrastructure and TLC of China has overtaken ALA and SI in mobile terminals.
