PsychoKen: The Emancipation Proclamation (later confirmed by acts of the states themselves) freed the slaves in Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Mississippi, Alabama, most of Louisiana, Arkansas and Texas on Jan. 1, 1863.

Missouri's slaves were "officially freed" by a state act in 1865; Maryland's slaves by a state act in 1864; West Virginia's by a state act in 1863; Tennessee's by a state act in 1865.

Slaves in Delaware and Kentucky were freed by the 13th Amendment in 1865.

Once again, you were a little loose in your historical accuracy, but then again, you've never been one to let the facts stand in the way of your right-wing rage.
