Sorry if I didn't mention every detail of my trading strategy on this thread, Joe. That doesn't mean that I don't have one. If you read my posts more closely, you will see that I am trading the semiconductor stocks mainly based on short term technical analysis. While I believe that the group has bottomed, I have said several times that I MIGHT be wrong, and therefore, I am sticking to my plan of selling near resistance on rallies and bailing for a small loss if a stock doesn't act right. My strategy is to buy near where I believe a stock has support and sell where I think it has resistance. I have carried out this plan over the last few weeks with good success. You must not have noticed that I took a quick loss on ATML a couple of weeks ago because I didn't like the action. I bought it back cheaper (and where I thought it would have support) and made the small loss back plus some. I also sold LSI, FLEX, CMOS, LSCC, ADI, ARW, and others for a nice short term gain near where I thought they would have resistance. In some cases they exceeded those targets, but have now pulled back to the 20 day moving averages, which in some cases is below where I sold them. I am buying back some of those positions now.
I agree with Ron that there's no place on this thread for personal attacks. Ron suggested an alternate approach to expressing yourself. Even though Ron's approach would be more agreeable to most people, I don't think there's even a place for much of that kind of discussion here. The purpose of this thread is to discuss stocks. If you don't like a stock, or the price that one pays for a stock, or where they sell a stock, then by all means say so. However, when you start talking about one's trading strategy you've crossed the line IMO. You regularly insult Ed, me, and anyone else that doesn't trade like you. This isn't the "Competition Thread". It isn't Joe vs. Dan, Joe vs. Ed, or Anyone vs Anyone else. At times you have something useful to say. However, you regularly toot your own horn, insult people that don't trade like you, and attempt to put yourself on a pedestal at the expense of others. Perhaps you should start a thread here on SI. Call it the Joe versus every other trader thread. You can do all the things that you like to do there. Brag about your winning trades. Insult the trading strategies of others. Dump on people when their trades don't work out. Say I told you so over and over again, etc., etc. Here's the bottom line, Joe. Stick to talking about stocks instead of people, or take a hike. Thank you. |
