oh an Alias CAN be insulted. IMO it just shouldn't be taken to 3d. An alias can even be slandered- but the question is, what kind of "crime" is that? Not much of one, imo.
What "feels good" to me, is not aligning myself with people whom I think have done something very wrong. It doesn't make you bad people. It does not make you criminals. It would not even make you former friends except that you made that a condition, not me. But you have, imo, crossed several important lines that I recognize between what is "right" and what is "wrong". Obviously we disagree about those lines. I cannot participate in a wrong just because someone I have some affinity for is doing that wrong. And when that person makes friendship conditional on participating in the wrong, or keeping quiet about it, the friendship will always give. Obviously not all people feel that way. I totally understand that, just as I understand you see the whole thing totally differently.
For me, CH is nowhere near as bad as you think he is, nor are we as "warmly allied" as you seem to think, nor are you much "better" than CH- if at all. Ch and I are less "warmly allied" than you and I were- and you see how far our warm alliance got you, when you wanted me to bend my thoughts to yours. I'm sure that rankles, and I'm sorry. I do not expect of other people what you expected of me. It is not wise to demand that kind of thought solidarity from people (imo). CH would get the same treatment as you did, as would anyone else who tried to get me to deviate from what I consider the right thing to do. It is not about you, it is not about CH, it is about what happened. I understand you see it differently- but that does not make you right. Not on this topic, and not on any other. |
