Another story from the pool. I see this mom and two little kids walk by sometimes. The older child rides ahead on a bike wearing a snazzy blue, aerodynamic helmet. His younger sibling is in some device that looks like a wheelbarrow with phony pedals. I guess it's a pre- pre- pre- bicycle. Anyway, the little one wears a helmet, too. Didn't think they made them that small. I guessed that mom is trying to get the little one habituated to a helmet. There doesn't seem to be any safety reason for it. It was kind of cute.

It's amazing the little things you notice when you jog in a pool for a couple of hours with no other entertainment.

Which reminds me on something else I saw on the CNN show that had the story about the human diamonds. There was a kid, maybe twelve, who wanted to play football but couldn't get a helmet to fit. The biggest football helmet made is for a player on the Bears, I think. This kid couldn't get the Bear's helmet on. He has a 26 inch head.
