It is obvious that it has changed. They changed the name, didn't they? They changed some of the applications, didn't they? The whitepaper describes changes in the testing methodology, too.

The real issue is whether the changes accurately reflect the usage model that Bapco wanted to implement, or was special treatment given to Intel's implementations? Like Burn2learn suggested, I believe that AMD's absence in the committee prevented them from having a say in how the benchmark is put together. As a result, more of Intel's suggestions made it into the final revision. Now that AMD has a presence, SysMark 2003 might implement a few more scripts and filters that favor the AMD platform.
