John, the Salmen Pak story has been all over the media for months, including PBS and The New Yorker.

It is not news to me.

The sources, as best I can determine are, one, a journalist who published in The New Yorker who visited the northern part of Iraq's Kurdish territory as well as, two, reports from Iraqis. The area has been extensively photographed by satellite.

I'm too lazy to give you precise sources, but you can find them on your own without too much difficulty. Dig through PBS's web site to start.
