Where are the Saudis going to have any assurance that their money will not recycled into the US to some substantial degree by whatever nation or nations they decide are going to be the beneficiaries of $ withdrawn from the US? It will come back in some substantial way in some form or other. In any event, for any number of reasons, it is best to start severing American ties to Saudi Arabia. Fortunately, the Russians are building up their industry in such a way that not too long from now their capacity will make the Saudi's excess capacity--and concomittant ability to control prices--irrelevant. I know, I know, it will take a while, but I suspect the Russians are working hard on it.
