Hi RtS,

I've watched A for quite some time now.

This is the only IPO I've ever been given free money on.

Months prior to the IPO, I asked my broker to see if I could get 1000 shares - I did get parceled out 100 (Big customer that I am).gg

Agilent was IPO'd out @ 30 and closed the first day @ 42. I bailed out @ 72.Ahh the good ole days when I did things right!!

This is a bit of a hybrid in that it has 3 separate and distinct business groups. That being said they do offer entries in the "high end of testhandling" and "testers".

Wondering if at this price - A should be considered a fallen angel - and perhaps the Blue Chip of tomorrow vs the nowhere land Ms. buzzword Fiarini is going to with the more familiar HWP + CPQ merger.

I would like to have the regulars sound in here about this "new guy on the block" - that I think, may well be a firm that has the blue blood lines of credit to perhaps buy its way into being a bigger player in the semi equip sector.

Credit at these prices,to make depressed acquisitions, could make for a brilliant move looking out 2-3 years later.Lets face it the cost of money is very low right nnow.

Full disclosure - I have long been a forecaster of either AMAT or A buying out Cohu as they decide to enter the backend of the semi-equip.The division of Sclumberger that makes testors for the Intel P4(and others) processors has been on the block for a long time now also.

All opinions welcomed and encouraged.

Bob
