Well, the biggest thing the US could do in that regard is be an honest broker in the Palestinian-Israeli conflict rather than being jerked around by Sharon.

The second biggest thing is to push human rights arguments seriously with Egypt, Saudi Arabia, et al.

The third biggest thing would be to be much more precise in our language as to who is the target of our efforts and why. The language of "terrorists" is self defeating because, as B says, it's so ahistorical, and rather than telling our listeners we have reasonably precise reasons for fairly precise targets, just renews the stereotypes about the arrogant US.

Sure John. We'll just import em all to the US for a good round of K-12, a suitcase full of cash, and a copy of the Bill of Rights, and send em back.

The fourth biggest thing would be to make use of the soon to be evacuated Enron headquarters in Houston, which, no doubt is near your office, to run seminars. You can be the first up. ;-))
