Ralph Peters has an interesting new essay in Parameters, Rolling Back Radical Islam

Interesting essay, more than a little unnecessarily patrionizing, but a topic worth thinking about. I would rephrase it to say something like we should not use the Arab ME as our paradigm for thinking about Islam and how to address it. Let's consider a mental model that has several paradigms.

Who is Ralph Peters? Best I could find on this website was the following:

Ralph Peters is a retired US Army officer, a writer, and a frequent contributor to Parameters. His most recent book is Beyond Terror, Strategy in a Changing World, and his early novel, The War In 2020, which has developed a cult following over the years, has just been republished. Recent travels in Indonesia and India inspired the arguments presented in this essay.
