that may well be true...

and agreed... it is very true the crb was, among other things, falling like a rock during the explosion... which was totally counter intuitive. couldn't agree with you more... though my sort of daily super market shopper was on the increase during that time even though we'd hear of surpluses in beef, pork and the like... or course bse was just getting it's start at that time as well...

anyway... cause per se is less on my agenda than the actual fact of the matter.. i.e. what the market is itself saying and is there a confirmation somewhere to posit thereby a trend...i.e. a reasonable story with most of its parts in place. seems now like that might be true... at least for me.

that's all i need to get started.... i'll leave the details to the BBR thread where they will endlessly look for so much cause and so much effect and affect, that the move will be over when they finally rally around an explanation they can accept in of course "hindsight"... <g>

as to the easing up on the print a thon...

i don't think they can... the last two months are just an attempt to regulate the flow a bit... but the pump's gonna keep working.

to the crb i'll add the last prices paid component was...guess what...UP...in an otherwise down report.

hmmm.

either way.... it will be a long slow trek to the other side if this is the leading bet... just like everything else. i'll be going slowly. no rush.
