That ancient Greece eventually collapsed is meaningless. Every society eventually collapses. Ours will some day. Within 200 years, probably fewer, the US as we know it will no longer be.

Based on your Rand quote, I assume that you answer to my hypothetical question is no. That is, assuming for the sake of argument that we would not have had Greek civilization without slavery, the right thing would have been to have dispenses with both the slavery and the civilization.

For me, I think there is a legitimate argument to be made that the greater good sometimes justifies inequity to the minority.
