This appears to be major false reason for support on attacking Iraq. From what I have read Iraq had nothing to do with al-Qaeda and Sept. 11. In fact they are ideologically opposed to al-Qaeda's Islamic fundamentalism. The al-Qaeda related activity in Iraq is in the very northern part of what was Iraq not under the control of Saddam's government.
