Not to belabor this point, as it's not Belabor Day, but while all the frustrations and issues you (mm) and others raise might very well have fed into augieboo's post, the post basically dismissed a nation's moral character with an offhand comment about the French/English debate. It may have been meant in an ironic way, but it surely didn't work that way. Then I think augieboo further compounded the problem by not taking Allan's reaction seriously -- again being dismissive, it seems, without a second thought. Bad show.

Now that I've fed this fire again, I think we should all try and drop this from the thread at least until augieboo chooses to apologize, explain, or comment. This is supposed to be a trading thread so ideally A) augie's post shouldn't have been made here to start with nor should the posts that lead up to it and B) we're all getting sidetracked with debates about issues that are important but should be on another thread, imo.
