Alex, I don't think we're as far apart philosophically as maybe you think. I agree with nearly everything you say. Except of course Global Warming. I just am not convinced it's a problem of any real magnitude. I guess one of the frustrations I feel as it regards to environmental government policies is they rarely seem to have a goal and to be results oriented. When do we say we have achieved it? I believe as it relates to Global Warming you will never see these government bodies say. Hey we did it! We don't need your funding anymore. So what it turns into is a transfer of billions of dollars from one country to another (never ending) with the goals abiquies at best. One thing as it relates to Brazil. I think it's true that as you see a country transition to economic prosperity, you will also see some environmental problems. It happened in the United States, Japan, and many other countries. I think it's easy to judge negatively those that follow in our footsteps. I enjoyed your post, and it was very well said. Michael
