Alex: A worthy posting. Many of the issues you raise already have answers and solutions. Primary among them is that a society that places the rights of the individual first will always be the society that becomes the most productive, diverse, powerful, innovative, in short, THE leader. The U.S. has more laws and more crime. More authority and less freedom. More political bankruptcy and less philosophical value. The people have been sold a bill of goods, brainwashed on lies starting at the high school and university level, nurtured through their twenties by a media that picks and chooses which stories to focus on, and sold a pile of scrap concerning the morality of being selfless, having a duty to other men (which translates into the nameless and faceless and identitiless having a carte blanche lien on your life), and warmed over platitudes that seem like retreads of Nazi and Communist propaganda posters circa 1920-1945. "People" didn't make America great, "individuals" did -- there's a big difference. Father Terrence
