After a long period of time, it sometimes seems to me that two (more?) people might be posting under your screenname, CB. Are there more than one?

There's just me, SR. Why don't you try taking me at my word for a change?

I live in the Washington, D.C. metro area. My husband works in Crystal City, less than half a mile from the Pentagon. Our house is just outside the Beltway. On the day that Al Qaeda flew a Boeing 707 into the Pentagon, I went through hell. Not the primary hell of those whose loved ones were killed or injured but the secondary hell of those who feared for their safety. It took him over three hours to get home. and of course that was nothing.

I want our government to do whatever it takes to keep my husband and my children safe from terrorists, knowning full well that safety is impossible.

Every day for the past couple of weeks I read people like you and Karen Lawrence and Jochen and JohnM, people I thought were intelligent and reasonable, scoffing at the administration's plans to defang Iraq because

"it's all about oil"
"it's all about Cheney and Halliburton"
"there's a hidden agenda"
"it's all about American imperialism"

as if there were nothing real to fear, as if we are just making all this up because we are selfish and bent on global domination.

So when I posted what it looked like when Saddam used WMD against a village of Kurds, you find that offensive?
