As for ending slavery, one Republican freed the slaves, not 'Republicans'. And he did so as a strategic measure, to increase the odds of a Union victory, not out of any high minded humanitarian impulse.

If you study the history of the Republican party, you may find (to your surprise, apparently) that the Republican party was founded as an anti-slavery party.

Because I took a shot at Rehnquist in my assent, you took a shot at me.

Joking that Rehnquist would like to enslave blacks is not humorous, not to me.

You indicated the Supreme Court might uphold the Executive's usurpation of the Judiciary's role.

I said no such thing. I can only recommend that you check the book I linked out of the library and read it for yourself. It's written at the reading level of a bright high school student or undergrad college student. "Enemy rights" are not guaranteed by our Constitution, for one thing.
