I've taken you at your word, CB. I haven't really delved into the alt theories you suggest, beyond posting one article that discussed a conspiracy theory, and with that, I indicated in the post that I wasn't buying into it, but it was interesting to consider.
I did question the tactics of neocons, which was aimed at mediacons and the more hawkish admin officials. I feel that they goad for a war at no risk to themselves, while questioning the patriotism/courage/intelligence/integrity of all who criticize their way.
And the reason I questioned whether there was more than one of you posting? For the past year, though we've held different views fairly often once we got off Afghanistan, I'd always found food for thought in your posts and interesting points of debate. In the past couple weeks, there just seemed to be a significant change in the tone of your posts and I've sensed a growing anger in them.
I'm not unsympathetic to the hellish day you faced on 9-11. I have no serious disagreement with the concept of regime change in Iraq as a long term measure. I just disagree with the growing demand for haste in the absence of solid information and at potential costs to certain freedoms and to Constitutional checks and balances... and possibly, provoking more trouble than can be alleviated, if the effort is mismanaged.
Even when using satire and hyperbole, I've directed it at public and press figures; only rarely have I teased a board member, with smilies to make clear my jest. If I've ever offended you personally, I apologize; I did so unknowingly. |
