My answer is this:

Perhaps a year ago, I made what turned out to be an unwise decision to undergo elective surgery. My wife posted under my alias to the thread that complications had ensued, and that I would be hospitalized for a while. Some time later I invited my wife on two or three occasions (at very most) to answer a post because she was better qualified to do so than I. These were JC posts that began with, "This is JC's wife speaking," or the equivalent. No names appeared in these posts other than the J. C. Dithers header. I personally would not characterize this as "sharing an account," but others may characterize it any way they wish.

Some time well after those incidents, and so far as I know unconnected to them, some posts from others appeared here speculating that another, relatively new poster, was JC's wife. These posts were from Poet and BIA, I am quite sure, and certain others that I cannot recall with certainty. It is possible that you were one of those others, but I would not claim so. I considered these posts to be in the vein of schoolyard, girlish taunting, of an immature nature. One or more of these posts insisted that I "fess up," or the like.

I ignored these posts and never responded to the tauntings. Eventually, they stopped, which is what usually happens in the schoolyards.

I am not about to change that now. I have no comment on the matter.

This is not about "secrets", or "revealing", or "confidentialty". It is about "It's none of your damn business".

That is about all I have to say. Beyond that, this kind of speculation is a game for others to play, if they so choose. I choose not be a participant in the game.

I have no intention of "doing something about it," as it were ... other than reserving my right to comment about it if I feel the provocation has become extreme, as I would do with any other subject that arises on the thread..
