take some profits and do WHAT with the capital? re-invest in the Japanese economy (maybe some bank stocks)? buy some JGB's? build some more aluminum capacity in China? buy some wireless spectrum in Bangladesh? i continue to fail to see the alternative for capital in a world of excess capacity and depreciating assets.

now that said, it should be noted that i did again today sell 20% of my zero-coupon treasury holdings (the same 20% that i sold at 3.xxx a couple of weeks ago and bought back at a shade over 4.25% about a week later). as i've noted many times before, i plan to sell 20% at each of 3.xxx, 3.8, 3.6, 3.4 and 3.2. as far as what i'm doing with the capital, it is just sitting in cash waiting for the eventual half-off sale on real estate (and yes, i suspect it will be waiting a long time).

Cheers
