I agree that in a perfect world we would distinguish various Islamic factions and address them separately. But it's not a perfect world. They didn't do that in the attack on the WTC where they killed people of dozens of different nationalities, the embassies where they killed of the native population, etc. The nuances are nice in theory. In practice, when moderates shield fanatics (as seems clearly to be being done), those nuances may not be achievable. I'm impressed that you still agree with your year-old positions. For me, a week is often plenty of time to change my mind three or four times. <g>
