A Question for those mush smarter than I:

Unfortunately, today's downdraft was all too predictable. We have had several months of summer selling pressure, and today was the official first day back from vacation for many professional traders, so voila! we get yet another market whipsaw. Surprise, surprise! How can anyone call the market "efficient" when people who make up the market decide to wait until the end of summer to start trading, er selling again? One would think that positions would be immediately lightened up should bad news come in even if they are at the beach. I presume most professional traders have cellphones.

Just when you think the market cannot surprise you, it does again. In this case though, the outcome was very predictable.
