While, I am on a roll, let me continue with another e-mail I received:

God is good and on our side no matter what situation may come our way. Be
strong and never fear for the war is not yours, but the Lord's
(2 Chronicles 20:15). He is always with us and is pleased when we do give
God all of our worries and problems and not let the enemy get us down.
Remember, it is not a flesh war but a spiritual war. (Ephesians 6:12)

This is a good poem that spoke to my heart to not waste time on things
that do not matter but instead invest each minute for Eternity and to
bring Glory and Honor to Almighty God. In order to be successful we need
to take on this mentality because if we don’t, the enemy is ready to get
us to think of other things and get us off track. I encourage you to
never give the enemy any chance to get you off track or entice you with
things that do not matter for eternity.

I hope you enjoy the poem.

THE DASH

I read of a man who stood to speak
At a funeral of a friend.
He referred to the dates on her tombstone
From the beginning...to the end.

He noted that first came her date of birth
And spoke the following date with tears,
But he said what mattered most of all
Was the dash between those years. (1934-1998)

For that dash represents all the time
That she spent alive on earth...
And now only those who loved her
Know what that little line is worth.

For it matters not, how much we own
The cars...the house...the cash,
What matters most is how we live and love
And how we spend our dash.

So think about this long and hard...
Are there things you'd like to change?
For you never know how much time is left,
That can still be rearranged.

If we could just slow down enough
To consider what's true and real,
And always try to understand
The way other people feel.

And be less quick to anger,
And show appreciation more
And love the people in our lives
Like we've never loved before.

If we treat each other with respect,
And more often wear a smile...
Remembering that this special dash,
Might only last a little while.

So, when your eulogy's being read
With your life's actions to rehash...
Would you be proud of the things they say
About how we spend our dash?

We really do not know when the Lord will call us home and for this reason
we are to always renew our mind and keep focused on the main goal: To be
an example and show God's love to all who we get into contact with, and to
bring Glory and Honor to the Lord both with our works and our praises unto
God for all that He has done for us. I am focused to fill my (-) dash to
bring Glory and Honor to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, for He has done
great things for me. I hope you feel the same way.

Read and Meditate on these scriptures from God's Word:

James 4:13-14 "Go to now, ye that say, To day or to morrow we will go into
such a city, and continue there a year, and buy and sell, and get gain:
Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It
is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away."

2 Corinthians 4:17-18 "For our light affliction, which is but for a
moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory;
While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which
are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things
which are not seen are eternal."

Psalm 146:1-4 "Praise ye the LORD. Praise the LORD, O my soul. While I
live will I praise the LORD: I will sing praises unto my God while I have
any being. Put not your trust in princes, nor in the son of man, in whom
there is no help. His breath goeth forth, he returneth to his earth; in
that very day his thoughts perish."
