When the basic needs of humanity are satisfied, then all wars would end using your reasoning. That just isn't the case [edit- though I think that it helps create peace]. I can remember only being unhappy about my salary when I found out how much a less capable person was making. It wasn't that he had more, it was that he didn't deserve it. At a core level, I felt the work I did was more valuable and should be compensated accordingly. I became a lot happier when I abandoned this mental model. It was flawed.
