"If you want peace in the Middle East, figure out how to establish functioning democracies with individual freedom (Bill of Rights) in Egypt, Syria, Jordan, Iraq, Iran, and Saudi Arabia. "

Cary,
you are the guy who doesnt want regime change. I do. And when i muddle thru bushspeak i think thats where he is headed. First Iraq, then iran, saudi arabia and perhaps internal reform in egypt and jordan.

Also, it seems to me that you have a double standard when you look at the world. The Arabs are demons to you. The Israelis and Sharon can do no wrong.
Did you feel that way in South Africa when the ANC necklaced the opposition? Did you think the Serbs had right on their side against the Albanians? The Serb analogy is actually a good one. The question is one for the future to decide because to this point there is no comparison to be made. But Sharons future policy and some of the things Netanyahu say relate to Kahanes views much like the slick David Duke tried to make the Klan look good. I hope this never happens in Israel but words like you use like "there are no palestinians only arabs who live there" make me fearful of the outcome. There are two prime directives for Jews. 1. Never again. 2. In preventing never again, do not become like your enemy.
None of this is personal Cary so please dont take it wrongly. And you know me well enough to know that I am proud of my heritage and never want to see Israel perish but there is spiritual "perishing" too to consider. Mike
