Hi Chaz.

A 3000 Dow? Whew! I don't think so.

WRT Adobe's legal disputes with ITC, Monotype and Agfa, I view it as something akin to trying to get the wild mustangs, feral cats and free range hens(g) back in the barn after they left about a dozen years ago. The release doesn't go into much detail so I don't know whether ITC, Agfa and Monotype are going after windmills or not. I tend to think so.

After Adobe's PostScript success, obviously fonts figured into the equation heavily. Today the proliferation of fonts (Adobe or otherwise) is a given. I don't see this as an issue that Adobe has much to worry about (How many times have I said that, only to have it bit me in the rear?(g)). The company is way beyond depending upon fonts as a big revenue stream, as the font business has filtered down to third parties (and even further with fonts included in graphic packages).

All of this is just my opinion and I don't think it was responsible for the haircut we received yesterday. ;-)

Have a good one!
