Today, I conferred with an associate living in a mid-western city.
The subject of Playmates Toys invariably came up. Knowing of my
interest in said company, he reported that a clerk at a large
Kay-bee toy store explained to him that an entire shipment of
30 boxes of "Nano Pals" (Nano Babies, and all) had sold "like
that," as the clerk explained it. In the same period, Bandai had
shipped but 3 boxes which, of course, sold out poste haste. The
clerk ponted out that "Nano Babies" sold out lastly. When kitty
cats and puppy dogs were exhausted, customers opted for the "Nano
Babies."
