Mr. Ewan Downie of Wolfden reports
WOLFDEN - JOINT VENTURE PARTNER BEMA GOLD BEGINS DRILL
PROGRA ...
A summer drill program has been initiated by Bema Gold on the Monument Bay
property, located in Northern Manitoba. Bema has an option to earn up to a
70-per-cent interest in the property.
The current program is designed to examine the continuity of previous drilling at
the Seeber West and Seeber River areas of the property. The Seeber River areas
are located on the western extension of the Twin Lakes/Monument Bay
deformation zone which, to the east, is host to the Twin Lakes gold zones. Drilling
of the Twin Lakes B zone has outlined a resource of 500,600 tonnes grading 18.5
grams per tonne (g/t) Au for a total of 300,000 ounces of gold, as calculated by
Bema following the completion of the 2002 winter drill program.
The current program will consist of eight to 12 holes totalling approximately 2,500
metres. Previous drilling in the Seeber West area has returned intersections as high
as 106.9 g/t Au across 2.9 metres and drilling in the Seeber River area has
returned intersections as high as 26 g/t Au across 9.3 metres. This drilling is part
of a large drill program designed to outline economic mineralization at Monument
Bay. Once winter ice conditions are appropriate, a 10,000-metre drill program
will commence on the Twin Lakes and Seeber River zones.
WARNING: The company relies upon litigation protection for "forward-looking"
statements.
