I have been expecting a consolidation in tech, but it hasn't arrived just yet.

Are you saying you don't believe there already has been consolidation in enterprise software?

Imo we are down to 4 app players- orcl, sebl, sap, psft; arba, itwo and c1 which were once huge companies are gone, supply chain as a space is gone and going to the ERP players and maybe sebl above, the integration players where there were, like 20 companies are now down to maybe 3- tibx, webm, sbyn (not totally sure of this area) - but anyway I doubt those will remain as standalone companies either. the e-business storefront area which was bvsn and companies around that is completely marginalized too.

Looking at fundamentals, valuation etc. psft, sap, sebl, orcl are cheaper then they've been since 96 (which for software was pre-internet) even though its obvious they are gaining share. Beas wasn't around in his current form then but he trades at about the same valuation as the others.
